Objectives and Expected Results | This research activity aims to engage Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) researchers in the academia and elsewhere with government, industry and society (a quadruple helix ecosystem) around the globe to advance mathematical sciences and made it easily accessible for effective and efficient use in industry and business processes. It focuses on the theme "Mathematical Evolution Guiding Industrial Innovation Futures". Thus, the following objectives of this event are broad to cover the SDG initiatives; i) to provide an important platform for academic researchers and industrial practitioners to share their methodology and experiences in industrial and economic activities by using mathematical and statistical tools. ii) to encourage interaction between academia and industry, leading to innovations and commercialisations in specific fields of interests. iii) to promote and support the broad use of mathematical and statistical models in diverse applications for a sustainable environment and optimal allocation of resources. Papers presentations that advances mathematics for industry and statistics will cover the following SDGs #4 Quality Education – promotes education in mathematics and practical applications, bridging academia and industry for skill development and inclusive education #11 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – Uses mathematics to solve industry issues, driving innovation and resilient infrastructure for sustainable growth #17 Partnerships for the Goals– A model of collaboration among academia, industry, and stakeholders for goal achievement #8 Decent work and Economic growth – Mathematics enhanced industry efficiency drives growth and decent job creation #13 Climate Action– Uses mathematics to optimise processes, resource use, and sustainability, supporting climate action From this programme it is expected that 1) the research outcomes presented and evaluated under this programme will be documented via various indexed (Scopus and Web of Science) publications as below i. International Journal of Mathematics for Industry ii. MATEMATIKA: Malaysian Journal of Industrial and Applied Mathematics iii. Springer Proceedings in Mathematics & Statistics. and also other publications i.Springer Book Series (Mathematics for Industry) ii. Journal of Quality Measurement and Analysis 2) Mathematical analysis of industrial innovation that involves interdisciplinary collaboration between mathematical scientists, economists, engineers, computer scientists, business analysts, and domain experts from various industries would facilitate the integration of diverse perspectives and experts to address complex challenges and opportunities in innovation and commercialisation in the future. The outcome would be the enhancement of the proposed mathematical sciences policy under primary, secondary and tertiary education; and employment scheme of mathematical scientists. |
