Abstract for Research Report Expander graphs have played significant roles in various areas of mathematics and information science, including combinatorics, number theory, group theory, cryptography and machine learning (ML). In particular, the construction of infinite families of expander graphs is a central open problem.
The main objective of this project is to establish new methods for constructing families of expander graphs and to explore new applications of the constructions in both mathematics and information science. In particular, we expect to build new connections and collaborations between various areas of mathematics and information science.
Additionally, in this year we will discuss the current progress of the on-going joint works launched by the previous IMI joint-research project and exploit new possible applications such as neural network design.
